Auchan Budapest
Designing and building the structure of a ramp and a canopy for launching an e-commerce business. Scanning, Tekla modeling and marking out of the local landscape with Trimble RTS (Robotic Total Station) machine
Location: Törökbálint, Auchan, Hungary
Project: designing and building the structure of a ramp and a canopy for launching an e-commerce business. Scanning, Tekla modeling and marking out of the local landscape with Trimble RTS (Robotic Total Station) machine
Challenge: adopting reality-based structural design and marking out into one process by applying the latest survey techniques, so the entire design and building process became 3D-based. This created a special challenge, because it was the first time that the RTS machine had been used and integrated into the process in Hungary
Solution:
- We surveyed the yard around Auchan with a laser scanner which resulted in a 3D cloud point picture
- Based on this, a background model of the existing conditions was prepared
- Parallel to this, the structural designer produced the 2D and 3D structural plans, together with the necessary calculations
- The dimensioned and approved structural design was adopted into the background model, which was then put through a clash detection test with Tekla BIMSight,
- The final plan was marked out with an RTS (Robotic Total Station) machine after the clash detection test on-site
Deliverables:
- Background 3D model of the building
- 3D Tekla steal structural plan
- 3D-based marking out
Added Value: Since the whole process was designed in 3D and on reality-basis at the very beginning of the project, the errors and the related waste were guaranteed to be eliminated already in the design phase. This was especially important in the case of a new steal structure that had to be attached to the existing building
